A Surprising Find is the third chapter of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

[edit] Summary

A Surprising Find is a continuation of the previous chapter: The Search for El Dorado. Searching for the statue of El Dorado using Sir Francis Drake's journal, Nathan "Nate" Drake and Victor "Sully" Sullivan have come across a German U-Boat in the middle of the jungle. Due to Sully having a "hickey" feeling about the U-Boat, Nate is forced to enter it alone, where he finds a map giving the coordinates to the supposed location of El Dorado. Whilst in the boat, Nate also comes across several extremely disfigured German bodies, including the Captain of the U-Boat. Just before he leaves the boat, Nate also sets off the timer of an old German torpedo, meaning his exit is a swift one.

When Nate gets out of the boat, he discovers Gabriel Roman, Atoq Navarro and several of Navarro's mercenaries holding Sully at gunpoint and waiting for him. It is suggested that Sully owes Roman a lot of money, and told him about El Dorado in an effort to get Roman off his back. Roman takes the map from Nate and then threatens to shoot him, but when Sully tells Roman to leave Nate out of it, Roman instead turns his gun on Sully and shoots him.

At this point, the timer on the torpedo has expired and it explodes, blowing up the submarine and offering Nate a chance to escape, but without Sully. During Nate's escape, he runs into Elena Fisher, and the two must fight their way back through the temple to a jeep belonging to Elena. Once the two have made it to the jeep and safely got away from Roman, Navarro and Navarro's mercenaries, Nate agrees to Elena helping him, and the two set off in a plane to the coordinates Nate found in the U-Boat.
