Desert Village is a map included in the multiplayer component of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. The map is set in a village in the desert, and is based on the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception chapter The Settlement.
Desert Village, as the name suggests, is based on a village set in the desert. The Village is quite an enclosed space, which means that close quarter combat is the main form of combat on the map. The remains of the village - which includes small walls and broken pillars - offer many forms of cover for players. During gameplay, a sandstorm engulfs the village, which obscures the player's vision.
- Mk-NDI grenades are scattered around the map.
- A PAK-80 is found on the rooftop of the map's central building.
- A T-Bolt Sniper is located on the roof that can be accessed from the elevated walkway down the side of the map.
- A Sawed-Off Shotgun can be found on top of a wall along with elevated walkway down the side of the map.
 Behind the scenes
Desert Village, which is based on the village seen in chapter 19 of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, The Settlement, was one of the first maps revealed as being in the game's multiplayer component. Although the map was not available in the game's beta phase, it was later released to reporters at the 2011 Gamescom conference. Desert Village was first made playable during the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception multiplayer early access promotion run by restaurant franchise Subway.
