 The Fort
Main article: The Fort
The Fort is the only default map based on a setting seen in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, the first game in the Uncharted series. The map seems to be based on the setting of the fifth chapter of Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, The Fort. The map takes the form of a decaying fortress, with two levels. The upper level provides many doorways and obstacles for cover, whilst the lower level is a flooded underground chamber, with a large fountain as its centrepiece. The map was not pre-installed in the game, but rather came free with the 1.02 update of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in November, 2009.
 The Ice Cave
Main article: The Ice Cave
The Ice Cave seems to be based largely on the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves story chapters Mountaineering and Heart of Ice. Taking place on two levels, the upper level provides several vantage points and a number of obstacles for cover, whilst the lower level offers a much more close-quartered combat situation. The inclusion of this map in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer was confirmed when it was announced as being one of the maps available in the game's multiplayer demo in September, 2009.
 The Lost City
Main article: The Lost City
The Lost City is based on the vision of Shambhala seen in the story of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, in the chapters Broken Paradise and Tree of Life. Taking place among crumbling buildings and plentiful greenery, the map features three levels: an upper level that provides a number of vantage points, a middle level offering many objects for cover, and a lower level that seems to take place in an ancient sewer system, offering a close-combat situation.
 The Plaza
Main article: The Plaza
The Plaza seems to be based on Nepal as it is seen in the story of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, specifically in the chapter Desperate Times. The centrepiece of this map is a large structure in the centre of the ground level, whilst numerous buildings surround this structure's vicinity, offering a number of vantage points. The Plaza was one of the first maps released to the public, being included as one of the two maps available in the beta phase of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, which confirmed its inclusion in the game.
 The Sanctuary
Main article: The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is based on the monastery seen in the later stages of the story in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, such as in the chapters The Monastery and Reunion. A large map, The Sanctuary features four towers that offer high vantage points, as well as a plaza featuring numerous objects for cover and an underground cavern system that provides intense close-quarter combat. The Sanctuary map also offers a competitive co-operative mode, following Nathan "Nate" Drake, Elena Fisher and Chloe Frazer as they fight their way through waves of Zoran Lazarević's soldiers in order to disable a communication tower.
 The Temple
Main article: The Temple
The Temple is based largely on the Nepalese temple seen in the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves story chapters The City's Secret, Path of Light and Only One Way Out. The map features a central plaza of sorts, with staircases joining the plaza to an upper room and a lower room. Two corridors run down the length of the map. This diverse setting offers a number of vantage points, many objects for cover, and the opportunity for some close-quarters combat. The inclusion of The Temple map in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer was confirmed when it was announced as being one of the maps available in the game's multiplayer demo in September, 2009.
 The Train Wreck
Main article: The Train Wreck
Largely based on the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves story chapters A Rock and a Hard Place and Train-wrecked, The Train Wreck takes place in the snowy mountains of Tibet. The map is based around a crashed train, which allows for some close-quarters combat. The ridges that run down the length of the map also allow for some vantage points, although the snowstorm that often adorns this map often leads to impaired visibility.
 The Village
Main article: The Village
The Village is based on the Tibetan village encountered in the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves story chapters Where Am I?, Siege and Cat and Mouse, specifically the latter two. The basic village setting of the map offers much opportunity for close-quarters combat, but the map also features a number of towers and high buildings that offer vantage points. The Village's inclusion in the game was confirmed when it was used as one of two maps available in the beta phase of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves multiplayer. This map also features a competitive co-operative objective mode, following Nate, Elena and Tibetan mountaineer Tenzin as they attempt to clear the village of a number of Lazarević's soldiers and a tank.
 Downloadable maps
In addition to the eight core maps included in the game, four more maps have also been released through downloadable content available for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Although several downloadable content packs have been released, only two have featured additional maps: the Drake's Fortune Downloadable Multiplayer Pack and the Siege Downloadable Expansion Pack.
 The FacilityThe Facility
The Facility is based on the German submarine bunker that is seen in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune story chapters The Bunker and Unwelcome Guests. A large map, The Facility's centrepiece is a rusted U-boat, with the diverse environment around it offering both vantage points and also the opportunity for close-quarter combat. The Flooded Ruins was one of the maps included in the Drake's Fortune Downloadable Multiplayer Pack, which was released in February, 2010.
 The Highrise
Main article: The Highrise
The Highrise is based on Nepal as it appears in the story of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, specifically the chapter Urban Warfare. The map is based on a series of destroyed buildings, and the variance on the height of these buildings offers players the chance to claim the higher ground for the better vantage points. The Highrise was one of two maps included in the Siege Downloadable Expansion Pack, released in April, 2010.
 The Museum
Main article: The Museum
Based on the setting of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves second story chapter, Breaking and Entering, The Museum takes place in a museum. A very large map, The Museum offers not only a courtyard for close-quarters combat, but also several towers from which vantage points can be staked.
