Michael Gough was born on December 3, 1956 in San Jose, California.[1] He attended the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in Theatre.[2]

Starting out in the late 1980s, one of Michael Gough's earliest roles found him voicing Gopher in the animated series The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh; a role he has since reprised numerous times. Throughout the 1990s, Gough appeared in many projects; he voiced Raphael in the animated television series Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, and also provided voice work for the fantasy role-playing game Diablo. During the 2000s Gough voiced characters in notable game series such as Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.[1]

Gough's first work in the Uncharted series comes in the 2009 video game Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. In the game, Gough is one of the actors to voice Zoran Lazarević's soldiers.[3]
Gough reprises his role as Lazarević's soldiers in the multiplayer component of the 2011 video game Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.[4]
