[edit] Biography

Talbot is a British male, and the right-hand man of Katherine Marlowe, the head of a secret British society dating back 400 years to the court of Queen Elizabeth I. Compared to a magician by thug Charlie Cutter, Talbot uses espionage and clandestine operations, as well as drugs, in order to perform seemingly-unexplained stunts that actually have rational explanations.[1][2]

The deal for Francis Drake's ring.

In a public house in London called "The Pelican Inn", Talbot meets with treasure-hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake and antique-dealer Victor "Sully" Sullivan to discuss a deal for Sir Francis Drake's ring. However, the deal turns sour when the money offered by Talbot is revealed to be fake, and Talbot leaves the public house after ordering Cutter and a gang of hired thugs to attack Nate and Sully. Nate and Sully defeat the thugs in The Pelican Inn, but are assaulted by Cutter in the alley behind the public house. Talbot then reappears with Marlowe, and after a brief conversation, Marlowe takes Drake's ring from around Nate's neck. Nate stands up to retrieve the ring, but he and Sully are both shot by Cutter. Talbot tells Marlowe that they have to leave and they make their exit in a car, annoyed with Cutter's wanton shooting.[1]

Later, Talbot and Marlowe regroup at the latter's underground hideout, where Marlowe attempts to insert Drake's ring into its accompanying astrolabe. When the ring doesn't fit, Marlowe says that they have been tricked, and Talbot realises that Cutter is actually allies with Nate and Sully. Marlowe says that they could have been followed back to their hideout, they begin to search the hideout with Marlowe's agents.[1]

Using notes taken from Marlowe's secret library, Nate and Sully make their way to a chateau in Eastern France, searching for clues to the lost city Iram of the Pillars. Talbot commands a small army of Marlowe's agents and hired thugs as he follows Nate and Sully to the chateau, and orders the agents and thugs to spread out to search for the duo. Talbot is later able to catch up to Nate and Sully in the tomb below the chateau, moments after they have located and retrieved one-half of the amulet that gives them the next clue to the location of Iram. Along with Agent Harris and another unnamed agent, Talbot holds Nate and Sully at gunpoint, before ordering Harris to take the amulet from Nate. When Nate attempts to attack Harris while handing over the amulet, Talbot shoots him in the arm, before Harris receives the amulet and begins returning to Talbot. However, poisonous spiders then swarm the tomb and attack and kill Harris. Talbot orders the other agent to take the amulet from Harris, before Talbot and the agent leave the tomb and seal Nate and Sully inside. After leaving the tomb, Talbot orders the agents and thugs to set fire to the chateau, before he makes his way to a Syrian fortress in pursuit of Nate and Sully's allies, Cutter and Australian explorer Chloe Frazer.[1]

In Syria, Cutter and Chloe are reunited with Nate and Sully, who were able to escape from the burning chateau. When the group are able to locate the exit to the crypt containing the second half of the amulet, Talbot appears, shooting Cutter in the neck with a dart containing a hallucinogenic agent. Talbot forces Cutter to hand over his gun and journal containing his notes, and escapes before Cutter's allies can catch him. Later, Talbot and three agents engage in a standoff with Nate and his allies above a ravine. Talbot notes that it is a stalemate, before it seems that Cutter is again being influenced by the hallucinogenic agent. Cutter turns his gun on Nate, and Talbot orders Nate, Sully and Chloe to drop their weapons. They oblige, but when Talbot tells Cutter to pull the trigger and shoot Nate, Cutter instead turns his weapon on Talbot, shooting him and the agents. Talbot survives the shooting and along with Marlowe, is able to catch up to Cutter on one of the fortress' rooftops. Talbot takes the amulet from Cutter, before Marlowe sets the roof on fire. The two make their exit with the agents, leaving Cutter to decide between staying on the rooftop and burning to death, or jumping off the roof; Cutter chooses the latter, surviving the fall but sustaining a broken leg in the process.[1]

The next time Talbot encounters Nate is in a Yemeni city where the next clue to location of Iram is said to be. Nate tracks Talbot through the Yemeni streets for some time, although Talbot becomes aware of this and attacks Nate after Nate follows him into a building. Although Talbot gets the better of Nate and throws him into a marketplace where there are several agents, Nate is able to retrieve Cutter's notebook from Talbot's jacket during the small confrontation. Nate later uses this notebook to complete a series of puzzles that reveals the location of Iram in the Rub' al Khali desert; Nate doesn't write down the coordinates, but makes Sully remember them. After completing these puzzles, Nate, Sully and journalist Elena Fisher are attacked by a group of Marlowe's agents. Although they are able to defend themselves, when they return to the Yemeni streets, Talbot shoots Nate in the neck with a dart containing a hallucinogen. As Nate leaves Sully and Elena behind and stumbles through the Yemeni streets while hallucinating, he hears Talbot speaking to him.

After Nate collapses and passes out, he wakes up in a Yemeni street cafe with Talbot, Marlowe and pirate captain Rameses. During the ensuing conversation Marlowe reveals how much she knows about Nate, before Talbot informs her that her forces have located Sully, which makes Nate unneeded. Talbot is then chased by Nate through the Yemeni streets, and when Nate catches up to him they engage in a fistfight. As Nate begins to take the advantage in the fight, he is hit from behind with a piece of wood by Rameses, who then abducts Nate.[1]

Sully is shot by Talbot in Iram.

Talbot and Marlowe kidnap Sully and get him to reveal the location of Iram. Although Nate is able to save Sully from Marlowe's caravan with the help of Salim and the Bedouin riders, Talbot and Marlowe still advance into Iram. When Nate and Sully later arrive in Iram, Talbot shoots and kills Sully. Nate gives chase to Talbot, defeating a number of agents appearing as the "Djinn"; demons born of smokeless fire. Eventually, Nate reunites with Sully and it is revealed Nate has been hallucinating since he drunk from Iram's fountain shortly after entering the city. Nate and Sully then attempt to stop Talbot and Marlowe, who are using a crane to retrieve a brass vessel containing the evil Djinn spirits from Iram. Talbot attacks Sully, but Nate is able to stop the operation using a flare gun. However, these shots cause damage to Iram's infrastructure and the city begins crumbling into a sinkhole.[1]

As Talbot and Marlowe make their escape, they come across Nate and Sully. Talbot pulls his gun on Nate and Sully, but before he can fire the platform they are on begins crumbling and Marlowe is sucked into the sinkhole. Talbot is unable to save Marlowe and says that Nate should save her, although he is also unsuccessful. Talbot grieves as Nate and Sully escape, but he later catches up to them near the entrance/exit to Iram. Talbot attacks Nate and they fall to a lower platform, where Talbot draws a knife and engages the unarmed Nate in a fight. Eventually, Talbot takes the advantage and leans Nate over the side of the platform, although before he is able to kill Nate, Sully shoots him in the arm. The platform then shifts, causing Sully to drop his gun down the edge. Nate dives to grab the gun and Talbot begins attacking Sully. Talbot knocks Sully down and attempts to kill him by dropping a rock on his head. However, Nate shoots Talbot several times and he falls over the edge of the platform, dying in the process.[1]
