[edit] Summary

Continuing on where the previous chapter, Locomotion, left off, Nathan "Nate" Drake continues making his way through Zoran Lazarević's train in an effort to find Chloe Frazer, all the while having to face wave-after-wave of Lazarević's soldiers. However, as Nate advances up the train, he will come to face more difficult enemies, including soldiers in control of GAU-19 miniguns, and the helicopter from the previous chapter will return, which Nate destroys with a turret situated on the train.

After this, Nate comes face-to-face with Lieutenant Draza, Lazarević's right-hand man. Although the confrontation begins with gunfire and grenades, the guns are soon tossed aside and the battle becomes a fistfight. Nate appears to gain the upper hand, knocks Draza out and recovers the Phurba, "the key to Shambhala", from Draza's belt, but Draza then rises again and begins choking Nate. Thankfully for Nate, Chloe then appears with a gun and fatally shoots Draza. However, this relief is shorted lived, as before Nate and Chloe can have a reunion, Harry Flynn and several more of Lazarević's soldiers appear. Flynn shoots and wounds Nate, who crawls safety behind one of train's seats. As Lazarević's men search for Nate, Nate aims and fires at a Propane Tank that explodes and send Nate's half of the train off the tracks and into the Himalayan Mountains.

[edit] Behind the scenes

The original title of this chapter was "Drake's on a Train", but it was changed during production for unknown reasons.[2]

The concept of Tunnel Vision and its predecessor, Locomotion, involves treasure-hunter Nathan "Nate" Drake battling his way along a train while the landscape flashes by in the background. This was one of the first ideas thought up while Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was in pre-production. However, the Naughty Dog development team didn't want to follow suit with what previous games have done - where the train is static and the background moves by, creating the illusion of movement - instead, they wanted to do it for real, with the train moving.[3] The train featured in these two chapters comprises of 50 individual train cars, and despite being among the earliest chapters that were conceived and created, they proved to be some of the final chapters completed during the game's production.[4]
